Sustainable Meeting Packages

The Sheraton Red Deer Hotel actively works to reduce the environmental impact of our business activities and continually improve and innovate on practices aimed at: conserving natural resources, minimizing waste and pollution, enhancing indoor environmental quality, establishing and reporting on key environmental performance indicators, and raising environmental awareness among our associates, guests, and communities.

At the Sheraton meeting planners can select meeting choices that limit their environmental impact and therefore comply with their own sustainability strategy at the same time.

Environmental Sustainability

We have focused our efforts on critical areas such as carbon emissions, energy, food & beverage, environmental quality, supply chain, waste and water reduction.

To reduce our impact on the environments we operate in, we have focused our efforts on critical areas such as Energy & Water Conservations, Waste Minimization, Environmental Quality, and Sustainable Meeting Practices. These main categories will work towards improving our carbon emissions, waste, water, and energy usage, food & beverage sustainability, environmental quality, and supply chain efficiency.

Meeting Impact Report

The Meeting Impact Report (MIR) is Starwood’s resource for demonstrating the impact of sustainable decisions made within the meeting planning process. The tool is designed to show meeting planners the impact of the choices they made in making their event more environmentally friendly. The report is focused on evaluating data related to energy consumption, water consumption, waste management, sustainable food choices, and volunteer programs.

Idle Free Zone

The Sheraton Red Deer Hotel strives to improve our environmental sustainability and minimize our effects on the environment. By creating an idle free zone we will reduce health risks caused by air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions while at the same time saving money and prolonging the life of your vehicle.

Sustainable Food and Beverage

The food and beverage industry can have a significant impact on the environment so our aim is to promote locally sourced and sustainably food and beverage options. By reducing our impact on the environment we minimize the effects of over-harvested or endangered animals and plants while encouraging stronger local communities, improving ecosystems, and enhanced guest experiences.
